SMACNA Greater Chicago is pleased to announce that Christina Wernick of Laner Muchin will be the guest speaker at our May membership meeting.
At this timely program, Christina will discuss the recent changes to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, including the apprentice fringe benefit provisions scheduled to take effect July 1, 2026, and the practical impact those changes may have on contractors.
She will also review HB 4751, legislation introduced to address the unintended consequences of the recent amendments and restore long-standing prevailing wage and collective bargaining practices. Her presentation will provide members with valuable insight into where things currently stand and what developments to watch in Springfield.
